Acura RSX Sway Bar Installation

Tools Required

  • 3/8 Socket
  • 12mm, 14mm sockets
  • 14mm quick wrench
  • 14mm wrench
  • 6mm allen wrench
  • 6" socket extension

Rear Sway Bar & Endlinks

Step One

Remove the stock sway bar by putting the 14mm wrench over the bottom endlink bolt and put the allen wrench into the bolt.

Step Two

Remove the rear bushings using the 12mm socket. Remove the entire sway bar.

Step Three

Install both the rear endlinks using the two 14mm wrenches.

Step Four

Slide the rear bushings onto the bar and then mount the bar to the endlinks. Do not tighten them down, attach the hardware very loose.

Step Five

Install the two bushings and hand tighten everything so that everything is even and equal. Do not tighten the rear bushings too much, you can strip out to bolts.

Step Six

Tighten everything down and check the install after a few hundred miles or if you hear any noise.

Front Sway Bar & Endlinks

Step One

Disconnect the first O2 sensor.

Step Two

Remove the front endlinks by using the 14mm quick wrench and the 6mm allen wrench, just like you did on the front.

Step Three

Remove the bushings by using the 14mm socket.

Step Four

Remove the bolts holding the cat to the header using the 12mm socket and the 6" extension. Remove the sway bar by pulling down on the cat and wiggling it out.

Tip: If you have an air ratchet, it will speed up this step quite a bit and make it a lot easier on you.

Step Five

Install the endlinks using two 14mm wrenches. Install the sway bar similar to how you removed the stock bar. Losely attach the sway bar to the endlinks and install the bushings. Tighten everything down and reinstall the cat to the header and reconnect the first O2 sensor.

Tips

  1. Use grease on the bushings to keep them from sqeaking.
  2. Airtools will help, but are not needed.
  3. Check installation after a week and then after a couple hundred miles.
  4. Check installation if you hear any sounds or noises coming from the suspension.
  5. Take your time, you are dealing with your suspension which is a key part of your car.
