Well I don't like to bash a product, but Comp has knowledge of a problem and refuses to rectify it.
I bought a CC Stage 2 clutch with their LWFW in 2017 from here (I'd like to add KSERIESPARTS.COM has been fantastic and is not to blame whatsoever)
My car makes a whopping 239whp. It's a daily. Zero track use, never launched (seriously.)
After 2460 miles, my clutch disc failed gloriously. The metal containing the springs blows apart then contacts other areas you don't want a spinning disc smacking.
I contacted Comp directly, spoke to a representative then finally to someone in "tech" whom said he'd seen it happen before, no worries we'll get it taken care of. As we all know tech don't run companies unfortunately.
I shipped the clutch disc and PP+LWFW back to Comp to be looked at and warrantied. My claim was denied, not because of some fine print or misuse or any other 1 of 100s of reasons a company COULD pull out of their....bag..to deny a claim, but because their system defaults to Ticket closed after 1 month of inactivity on one end. Lucky me that was their end. I sent pictures, messages, and the whole physical clutch "kit" to them.
After a few months a rep reached out to me and offered me a replacement, of the same Part numbers, for 30% off, from the same vendor as originally used,And most importantly advosed.me that the Disc itself had been updated in the interim. Great, I like this site and will get a clutch that works. Wrong.
1200 miles. Daily driving. On a Brand new motor that I'm breaking in still! No throttle passed 35%, never spun above 4500rpm.
The same failure occurred again. I'm livid.
Two Competition Clutch Stage 2 's, TWO Failures, less than 5000 miles.
This is also a noted problem on their Stage 4 kit.
Chose another clutch, theres plenty of great options here.
