Very easy to install.. you could hear the vtec kick in (deeper sound) best intake ever!!!
Sounds Awesome! (06 RSX-S)
lemaitrix | August 18th, 2012
Pros: Amazing sound when I hit VTEC. During my first test drive, I thought I screwed up the installation because the sound caught me by surprise! The sound is so different than stock! A slight whistling sound at around 3000 RPM is also pretty cool (I suppose some people may find this to be a con). Cons: The fitment was slightly off for my 06 RSX-s. The problem was the horn (I think) in the engine bay was getting in the way so I had to force it in. Also, I don't feel any power gains in my butt dyno, but I'm sure there's some (even if it's very little).
AEM V2 on '06 RSX Type-S

It definitely produces HP gains throughout the RPMs. The sound is amazing, especially when "VTEC kicks in yo." Looks great in the engine bay. The fitment is somewhat off(the filter touches the shifter cables). It will suffer from heatsoak after driving a long distance while its hot out(maybe wrap it, idk). Overall, very pleased.

Very easy installation, no special type of tools required just a screwdriver & a socket wrench set, Acceleration improved & you can feel the V-Tech Scream & the power as well.
My VTEC goes BwahhhWAHHHHH
NotoriousEgg | November 3rd, 2011
Easy to install, cleans engine bay right up, deffinate power gains, perfect for Canadian weather(keep'er on all year 'round), unless you WOT you wont really hear it but once you WOT...well just WOT and see (don't forget to hit iVTEC :P) AWSOME BUY!!!
great, recommended

this was the first mod i got on my 02 base. i love the gunmetal grey color, looks great under the hood. it doesnt (as far as i can tell) affect the gas mileage and gives pretty good gains for the price. a good buy
vtek goes bruuuum

When I first got this in the mail I was happy, but when I installed it (only took me 30min) and took it for a NICE TEST DRIVE...All Hell Break Loose...When vtek kicked in I was all smiles...pretty much it flies like a butterfly and stings like bee...
deeply satisfied

When i first purchased this (as my first mod) i was skeptical about how hard it would be to put on and the effects it would bring. But, in less than an hour, I had put on this monster intake with much less effort than expected. And as if that wasn't satisfying enough, when I hit the gas, it definitely roared much better than I expected. The power gains also caught my attention with better torque and throttle response. And when it hits v-tec, the sound turns heads. I definitely recommend this to anyone making a first mod or replacing their old intake!
great sound, better power.

one of my first upgrades, and an intake i feel is one of the best upgrades for people just starting to tune their rsx. very nice performance, great sound, especially high rpms, and in vtec. i had fitment issues with mine though, so i went with password jdms power chamber intake, and love it.
AEM Engineered to Outperform

I just recently purchased my RSX December of 2010 and boy was I ever excited to start investing some money into my car. The V2 intake is the first mod I purchased and I am more than content with the buy. As far as performance, it gave me a slight boost throughout the car. I noticed the difference at higher RPMs. The best overall plus about this intake is the sound. It sounds like a freaking monster! Right around 3K RPM it begins to growl, than after the VTEC kicks in it releases an even louder roar!! I'm riding with the windows up and music above 30 and I can still hear the intake!!! I love it! LOL! I believe the price is a little high but it was a good buy. If you are looking for high quality sound, than I recommend you look into purchasing the V2. I give it a 4 out of 5. IF the price was a little lower, I'd most def rate it 5 out of 5.

The only thing wrong with the V2 Intake is the new location for the intake sensor where is located by the air filter, but my sensor wasn't long enough to reach. i didn't want to cut any wires to make it longer. i had to drill another hole in the same spot on the stock intake tube where the intake sensor was before. i plugged up the other hole on the V2 Intake. my car is not having any problems, the intake is working as it should.
wow!

pain in the ass to put in, all worth it
Wonderful

The AEM V2 Short Ram Intake was the first mod I did to my 05 rsx type-s. Installation took less than an hour, and was simple enough. This intake sounds awesome whenever you hit the gas, and even better once v-tech is hit. I'd recommend this product to anyone looking for an affordable first mod.
Beautiful
Branden | April 22nd, 2010
Ordered my intake last week and got it in Monday *picked up and installed today*. It took about an hour and a half for me and a buddy to do *I'm not incredibly mechanically inclined* because I'm a moron...It took me like 5 minutes to change ratchet adapters/sizes/extensions.. V-Tech is beautiful. Gives off a nice loud scream as soon as you go in and you can def tell when shifting if you missed it or not. Some heatsoak which is expected out of an SRI but none the less works great. It does sit right above the tranny and a mount for the stock airbox will bump it if you don't remove. Mine wasn't coming out so i just left it there. Def would recommend this product for someone looking for an SRI or even CAI!
wooo

love this intake, sound is sick! especially when crackin v-tech, deff a good combo with the apexi ws2 i got, amazing tq gains, only thing i didnt like is how the filter sits on top of the transmission. but other than that so far so good
Amazing Intake: The Pros.... The Cons
Mark Johnson | August 23rd, 2009
Got my intake mid July... put it on with my friend in about 45 minutes. Of course the cosmetic appeal of it was apparent right as i started my engine. The Pros She's a beefy intake at high RPMS but my favorite thing is she makes a nice sucking noise at 1/4 throttle that people mistake for a small turbo all the time. I was at the car wash last week and the four kids drying my car thought it was turbo. So that's really cool. And lastly of course of course when I first hit Vtakkk! (I mean vtech.... I mean V-tech)... {Get it right people} When Vtec engages its a beautiful sound and if your a good driver it sounds amazing when you up shift and hit 6000rpms instantly again! The Cons. First off, the thing heat soaks for sure. Sometimes on a humid summer day my car is boggy-mic-boggersin, the intake gets ridiculously hot and my car has significant horsepower loss. My friend has a B18C1 I/H/E with a CT hybrid intake and he'll keep up with me real good on the hot days. My other big concern is when I got my intake and opened the box i found two huge dents in the intake. One of them is right were the sleeve meets the thinner tube and is in plain view when installed. I'm sure this causes air flow problems. but even worse the metal is bent were the intake meets the throttle body.... uhhhhh...luckily the Kevlar tubing and the metal clamps they give you diminish the problem but the bends are there. And lastly. I don't know if this V2 is even the one for my car b/c it was not a perfect fit. The filter touches parts of my transmission and I didn't like that when i was installing. Regardless I love it but I just wish it came perfect for the price I paid. Still amazing!

this was my first mod for my 02 rsx type s. it sounds amazing with vtec kicks in. but now that i have my dcrh's in, i can feel it heat soak a bit which really sux. i would suggest this intake to ppl who like to do roll races instead of digs.
Better for the daily driver

AEM v2 VS Injen CAI is always going to be a heated discussion. Ive had bolth on my car. Injen is noticeably louder and some added performance. But seeing that it's a CAI it sits way to low to the ground seeing what i did is sucked some water up and craked my mainfold. V2 sits right next to the engin so it does get heat soke. Witch robs perfomance and sound. Honisty if you want a product that will last aslong as your car go with the V2. Best qulitly very well made and the replacment filters are free. And you really dont have to worry about water getting up under the hood as much as the Injen.
SWEET

Just installed yesterday... big difference over my stock air box...awesome torque gains.. major wheel spin shifting into second... the intake sounds awesome and then v-tech kicks in and it's ridiculous! Sounds awesome! Love this thing!
Feel the difference
Orion | August 6th, 2008
This is my first after market intake but I can say I can truely feel the difference. I just put it on yesterday evening and the took it for a test ride with my 360lbs brother and my 110lbs nephew and it was still faster then stock with just me in it. When I took the solo run I got some serious wheel spin when hitting second gear. There is a slightly different feel all the way through however it's best performance is when the I-vtec kicks in. I have not experience heat soak yet however that was a night run so we will see as time goes on but I have no complaints about the performance of this intake and nothing but love for what it has done for my car. Oh by the way I ordered from Auto anything which also has free shipping but they charge tax. I recommend buying this from ClubRSX as the price you see is what you get.
good
Cooper Naipo | June 14th, 2008
well installing took like 15 min using power tools and gains on a cold day are miled. living in texas it gets very hot and thats one thing the v2 isnt good for. yes it sounds awesome nice and throughty before vtec and amazing all the way thru vtec but it gets heatsoak very bad noticiblle loss of power on a hot day. reccomond for a winter intak
Great item
edub905 | June 11th, 2008
as stated below, heatsoak is an issue, since it sits next to the header, but i love my v2 and the gains are beutiful. very satisfied!

Very satisfied with this product, it was easy to install, there are noticeable gains throughout the RPM range and the sound when the VTEC kicks in is awesome.

This is a great intake.....the VTEC pop compared to stock is CRAZY!!!!! The only thing i don't like is that the pipe gets semi-hot..... i dunno how cold my intake charge is getting, but i can defientley feel a difference......

Manuel O. | April 22nd, 2008
it was hard to install for me because it didnt line up, so i had to get a replacement one from AEM. but its a great product. great sound. Great V-Tech crossover sound. even better in cold seasons.
Bad?
K20Gasa | March 14th, 2008
The Aem V2 sits right next to the engine. Living in florida the V2 is easily heat soaked, with little gains during everyday driving.
Very satisfied..
Mike Mike | January 31st, 2008
Installation was a breeze, love the new sound, louder V-tec crossover, and the gains in Hp were very noticeable in pulls. Was debating between CAI and Short Ram, but I'm glad i chose Aem V2.
