Description

As you track your vehicle and experience tremendous lateral G-forces while entering and exiting turns, your suspension geometry changes. This is common knowledge, but is often misunderstood. As your car experiences sideways forces, the upper and lower control arms change angles in relation to one another. Most people understand this part of the concept, and that the resulting change could pivot the centerline of the affected wheel in such a way as to produce a significant change in camber, resulting in less tire contact with the ground and, subsequently, poor traction and stability. What's not understood is that simply "dialing in" negative camber to counteract these effects is a patch fix that doesn't address the changing of the suspension geometry; it merely compensates for it.

The tradeoff then becomes less predictable handling during turns and loss of straight-line stability due to unnecessarily increased camber, not to mention avoidable premature tire wear. This problem is aggravated when the camber is changed by adjusting the angle at the upper control arm; the angles between the upper and lower control arms help determine a vehicle's roll center, and, where the roll center occurs in each side of the suspension.

To counteract this problem, Buddy Club has released the P1 Racing Extended Ball Joint, an extended ball joint that connects to the lower control arm, not the upper, thereby allowing a more correct and apt suspension geometry between upper and lower control arms to be maintained; this insures a more predictable roll center, especially when used in conjunction with an upper control arm camber adjustment kit. The roll center adjuster is an essential part of any tuned suspension on a street or track vehicle lowered 2 inches or more. Vehicles equipped with adjustable upper control arms or camber plates should consider these necessity.

The failed me after 4 years b4 their time grrrr

By MJ on 5/24/2016

I bought these 05/29/12 and have worked wonderfully until now. I could never understand why they didn't come with a c-clip or the c-clip groove? I always wondered about that, so i always kept my eye on them, fearing the ball joint will slide thru. Well my fear has come reality and i noticed this past weekend 05/22/16 that my passenger side is completely loose in the knuckle. It failed before it's time and pisses me off. By looking at the picture of this product now, it looks like there is a C-clip groove, and if so then do not hesitate to buy, but if they do not accept the snap ring, then i wouldn't bother with them and go with the hardrace RCA'a. I am giving 3 stars because they did last a while, but a thumbs down on Buddy Clubs part for not incorporating the snap ring& groove.

awesome product

By Josh M. on 5/21/2014

Product fitment and quality are top notch. I don't have anything other than the seat of my pants to prove a benefit but along with my 0857 inverted tie rods and mounting point adjuster that were installed at the same time my RSX is night and day difference from before. Handling responds much quicker and the car feels much nicer to drive hard.
