Product Details

Part Number: 1893
Brand: Acuity Instruments
Transmission: Manual

The OEM base bushings on most Hondas and Acuras are made from highly compliant rubber. Thanks to leverage, the small amount of compliance the rubber adds equates to a very noticable "spongy" feeling in the shift knob during shifts. This bushing kit replaces the OEM rubber bushings with rigid 6061-T651 aluminum making for a much more decisive shift, even with a stock shifter. As an added touch, the bushings are coated in a purple Type 2 anodized finished, laser etched, and paired with class 12.9 flat-head mounting bolts.

Specs:

  • Reduces compliance by replacing the OEM rubber bushings with solid aluminum
  • Includes (3) upper bushings, (3) lower bushings, and (3) class 12.9 mounting bolts
  • Purple anodized finish
  • Laser etched acuity logos

acuity shifter base bushing

Work as described. See my review of the shifter cable bushings for more.

These aren
Impressive difference
Mark Blanc | March 18th, 2019
I had all the trim removed around the shifter ready to do the job. Before unbolting the OEM bushings I tested the shifter for any kind of play and there was none. I was hesitant to do the job because I didn't think there would be a difference. After getting the OEM.bushings out and seeing that they were fine I threw these on because it didn't make sense to not replace the bushings as this point. I just test drove the car and the shifter is noticeably firmer. It handles closer to a racing shifter now and I haven't even installed the acuity linkage bushings yet.
Pretty Good

Can't go wrong with Acuity! I also have their shifter cable bushings, together with the base bushings, it compliments the feel of the shifter. It's much sturdier, and feels like it "grabs" more throughout the gearbox.
