The Honda OEM Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor is a genuine factory replacement designed for a wide range of Honda and Acura vehicles, including the Acura RSX, Honda Civic Si, Accord, CR-V, Element, and Acura TSX.
Also known as the ECT sensor or water temperature sensor, this component monitors engine coolant temperature and sends critical information to the ECU. The engine management system uses this information to adjust fuel delivery, ignition timing, and other operating parameters as the engine warms up.
Over time, coolant temperature sensors can fail due to heat, corrosion, internal electrical faults, or damaged wiring. A malfunctioning sensor may cause hard starting, rough idling, poor fuel economy, incorrect temperature readings, or a check engine light.

Installation Notes
- Before installation, allow the engine to cool completely and relieve any residual cooling system pressure. Drain enough coolant to prevent excessive fluid loss when removing the original sensor.
- Disconnect the electrical connector and carefully remove the original coolant temperature sensor. Inspect the connector, wiring, and sensor mounting location for corrosion or damage.
- Install the replacement sensor according to Honda's factory service manual, using the correct sealing components and specified tightening torque.
- After installation, refill and bleed the cooling system as required, check for coolant leaks, and verify proper engine temperature readings.
