The Honda OEM Lost Motion Spring is a genuine factory replacement designed for select Honda and Acura K20 and K24 DOHC i-VTEC engines. Located inside the cylinder head beneath the VTEC rocker arm assembly, this spring helps maintain proper rocker arm contact and supports smooth, reliable valvetrain operation.
The lost motion spring applies tension to the VTEC rocker mechanism when the high-lift cam profile is not engaged. Over time, these springs can weaken or wear, potentially contributing to excessive valvetrain noise, rocker arm chatter, and premature wear of related components.
Manufactured to Honda's original equipment specifications, this lost motion spring is an excellent replacement during cylinder head rebuilds, camshaft upgrades, valvetrain maintenance, and K-Series performance engine builds.
