06 type-s install
Jeff | April 19th, 2021
I put 2 of these on the front with the stock springs. Car rides great now, but here are the steps to install these so you can decide if it's worth it for you: -Remove wheels -unbolt brake line and speed sensors from strut -remove tie rods -remove 2 main strut bolts -pop hood and remove the 3 strut mounting bolts -pull out strut from car -use spring compressors on the springs -remove bolt holding strut together -pull out strut from the springs -drill a hole in the center of the top of the strut housing using 1/4 inch or smaller drill bit -drain strut fluid -mark a spot to cut the strut, 40mm from the bottom of the strut housing (instructions say subtract 6mm from the length of koni yellow bottoms to the portuding bumps on it which is 46mm in this case) -use tape to wrap around the strut on your mark to use as a cutting guide -cut off the strut housing with a saw on your marked spot -pull out oem damper -file down the edges on your cut -use 1/2 inch drill bit to widen the hole on top where you drained the fluid -insert koni yellow into your modified strut housing -use provided bolt in packaging and put through 1/2 inch hole on top and thread into koni -use ratchet to thread bolt to pull the koni all the way into place -remove the bolt and re thread it in the same spot with the provided crush washers -re install into your springs and put back in car And voila youre done. 12 hours later and 3 trips to auto zone and you should be finished. Maybe consider buying a fully assembled strut if that sounds like too much.
Loving the ride quality.

Paired this with the Eibach prokit. I have them adjusted about 3/4s to full firm. Ride quality is great. My car is a dd and it's very comfortable. It's perfect for how I want it. Props to kseriesparts for exceptional service and fast shipping. I'll definitely be ordering from here again.......well I already have. Lol. Thanks for everything guys.
Great shocks, bad installation
dbsidbduejheudifbeuwi | May 6th, 2012
So I really like the way these feel, I had stock suspension on eibach sportlines and as soon as I installed them I blew ny stock shocks. The ride was terrible and made a whole lot of unwanted noises. As soon as I installed these, all the noises were gone and the ride felt great! The only downside is like everyone else says, the instructions are poorly written and the modification to your stock assembly is kinda nerve racking because if you mess up, you will ruin your stock set up and the konis won't fit. But don't let that stop you from getting these, they are great shocks. Koni would make a lot more cash if they sold these specifically for the rsx. I believe many ppl turn away from these due to the hard install.
Koni yellows not great of uneven surfaces

I gone through the entire range of adjustments trying to find a setting for rough roads and I'm not successful. Its quite a rough ride on bumpy roads, compression damping pretty harsh and makes braking difficult.
Great product

I love my Koni Yellows, they are a terrific ride for my daily commute, where the roads are not exactly smooth. Paired with eibach springs, the ride is smooth enough to be usable and practical, while retaining good handling for the twisties.
The correct shocks for your lowering springs
Tu Pham | October 25th, 2011
these shocks are design for all of the lowering springs. I love them even we have to the mod for the front shocks on rsx. I would suggest these shocks for people who only have the lowering spring and don't have the koni yet. Great handling and comfort. Prebound is adjustable. By the way, the shipping package is missing the 2 plastic nuts that prevent from bottom out for the front shocks were missing. Other than that, i have nothing to downgrade for these shocks.
Great struts, difficult install

Overall happy with struts, but install is very difficult. Many shops are even reluctant to do it.
Koni yellows-great shocks-terrible installation mods!

If I were just rating the shocks, I would have given them a 5. I've owned many sets of Konis, but this was by far the worst installation! Why couldn't they have made the struts specifically for the RSX? These are generic shocks that need extensive modification for the car they are installed on. In this case, the original struts had to be modified by cutting off the top of the tube that is about 3/16" thick. In order to make it a straight cut, I started with a pipe cutter to make a line to follow with a hack saw. A hole had to be drilled in the bottom of the tube in order to insert a bolt into the bottom of the Koni shock. This locks the shock into the original strut tube. Instructions were also generic and poorly written. Its a good thing these are supposed to be lifetime shocks, I wouldn't want to try removing the strut inserts to replace them.
Great Shocks

I purchased these along with the Einbach Pro-kit lowering springs. It gave a very nice drop that wasn't over the top. The adjustability feature on these shocks is very nice too.
Koni shocks

Excellent shocks for a good price. Funny thing is I didn't know they were adjustable. Highly recommended.
Well Worth It

I was hesitant at first when I purchased these. I can now say that I am completely content with my purchase and I wish I had gotten them sooner. The only problem that I have with these is that there is modification to your stock pieces required for the 2 in the front. The instructions given with the shocks from Koni are very brief and are just pictures. With the help of the forums and other sources, these were installed problem free. A must have for anyone desiring a comfortable ride at a lower operation range. I personally have them paired with the Eibach pro kit and I love it.
Shocks

Definately a must to complete your suspension. Although any modification to your suspension, you will feel more from the road with these shocks that I installed it really makes the ride alot more comfortable.
