Acura RSX JDM HID Kit Installation

Tools Required

• 10mm ratchet and socket
• At least an 8 inch extension for the ratchet and socket
• Small and medium flat head screwdrivers
• Medium Phillips head screwdriver
• Wire cutters
• Wire crimpers
• Electrical Tape
• Small Connectors
• 30amp Fuses (at least 4)

Step One

Remove the six clips on top of the bumper. Use a flat head screw driver and be very careful, these clips like to break. Once the clips starts to release work it out from different sides and that will help reduce the chance to breaking them. Do not force it, just work it off slowly.

Step Two

Remove the six clips on the bottom of the bumper. There are 4 across the center and one on each side in front of each wheel.

Step Three

Remove the four screws from the bottom of the bumper. There are two on each side in front of each wheel.

Step Four

Remove the two screws that are located in the fenderwell. There is only one screw per side. It is located in between the bottom and the top of the fender.

Step Five

Remove the top two 10mm bolts from each of the headlamps.

Step Six

Remove the 10mm bolt on the side of each headlamp.

Step Seven

Using the socket and the extension, remove the bolt on the inside of headlamp. It is located right below the thin part of each headlight. Disconnect all other bulb harnesses. Remove the bottom metal piece (10mm bolt) from the stock headlamp, install the metal piece onto the JDM headlamp.

Step Eight

Remove both of the 20amp fuses from the fuse panel in the engine bay.

Step Nine

Cut the low beam wire harness off. Make sure you leave a some amount of wire on harness just in case you ever want to reinstall the stock headlamps. You also want to leave a large amount of wire because it has to attach to the HID ballast. Attach the small connectors with wire crimpers. You may want to cover them with electrical tape.

Step Ten

Install the headlamp and ballast onto your RSX. Don't bolt down, just attach the connectors onto the ballast. It should be red closer and black further away.

Step Eleven

Then install one of the 30amp fuses into the side you are working on. Turn on the headlights to test them out. If it doesn't come on, switch the wires and replace the blow fuse. Do the same thing for the other side.

Step Twelve

Once both side work, reconnect all the other bulb harnesses and install the bolts in the opposite way from above (extension bolt, side, then top).

Step Thirteen

Reinstall bumper reversing steps one through four.
