I was shocked that I received the item in less than 24 shipped The clutch was installed and currently in break in period. I'm so far enjoying my Stage 2 clutch, it grips like no other.

Working flawless!

Got the clutch installed & so far after 100 miles its working nice. I drive in traffic and the stage 2 is no problem. Highly recommend so far!

Perfect for daily driving!
Artur M. | December 9th, 2023
I'm writing this review after my second clutch change with this kit. It's definitely worth the upgrade from OEM; I wouldn't have it any other way! However, I DID purchase the OEM throw out bearings. The clutch is very "grippy" and "spring-y" at first, which requires some getting used to, but it becomes smoother after the break-in period. My first clutch lasted 90K miles before starting to slip and I drove it another 11K miles before finally replacing it. The transition from slippy to grippy was quite a drastic change! I have not had any issues with this clutch, so with that and the performance of the this clutch, I highly recommend it! I feel like the DC5 was made for this experience!

Bite Me?
Alfredo De Leon | August 6th, 2017
Replaced my OEM clutch and flywheel with this kit. Definitely grabs better than OEM. It's relatively annoying in traffic when I take trips to LA but that's with any upgraded clutch. Works fine and does the job. I daily my DC5 and it's all working fine 9 months later. The RPMs do drop faster but it's nothing dramatic. Great buy. Upon research though, It seemed their throw out bearing has given people problems so I didn't bother using it and replaced it with an ACT throw out bearing. 12K miles & 9 months of use.
Very Grabby
Black Sheep | June 2nd, 2017
This clutch is extremely grabby for what it is, and took some getting used to. Once the break in period is over, it becomes a lot softer on the pedal, and becomes almost like a stock clutch with a ton of bite. It's not too bad, but can get a little annoying in traffic. I have it on a stock engine with a 2-800-ST lightweight flywheel (also Competition Clutch), and it makes my k24 rev up and down just as fast as a k20. Shifts are very quick and don't take much effort once you get past the shift from first to second gear.
EXcellent Fit
Simon Smith | May 15th, 2017
Smooth engagement of the clutch, grabs perfectly but not too aggressive, perfect for daily driving and street/track drag/ circuit racing. Straight forward install with no issues.
Great clutch so far
Roland Dahl | July 15th, 2016
Just finished breaking in the thing and it grabs hard. Pedal is stiffer than OEM as expected, but not too stiff. Pretty easy to get used to and is still great for daily driving, paired with the OEM flywheel.
Wow!!!!
Rajneel Kumar | March 14th, 2016
Went from OEM to Stage 2 and light flywheel combo ill never go back feels more aggressive just wants you to unleash the VTEC , the only hard part was the break in procedure 500 miles of city stop and go constantly using clutch to wear it in evenly after that you can hoon lol... would not recommend for those who live on hill or steep incline areas clutch starts to smell if you ride clutch as you go up hills and light flywheel wont help out also makes rpm drop faster will stall out or burn clutch not sure how it is on stock flywheel
Excellent upgrade
projectcarstories | October 26th, 2015
Massive improvement over oem. Even if your engine is stock, I would still recommend upgrading to this. Broke in with no issues and now has just under 4,000 miles on it without any trouble. Grabs much harder than oem which can be a tad annoying driving in the city if you're not used to an aggressive clutch. Nothing against it though, I would certainly buy it again.
Comp. Clutch Stage 2

This was my first time replacing my clutch so I did a lot of looking around. After reading the reviews for this clutch I decided to purchase it. It only took a few days to use to. I'm very satisfied with my purchase!
Excellent Product
Michael W | November 26th, 2014
My previous clutch was an ACT 6 puck stage 3 sprung clutch with the ACT ProLite flywheel. That setup was extremely harsh and extremely responsive and perfect for the track, however with my RSX-S being my daily driver, wasn't always ideal for city driving. I've never used a Competition clutch before but the reviews were there so I gave them a shot. My findings are these: this setup makes the engine responsiveness a little more sluggish, but that is to be expected with a 35% heavier flywheel. This clutch is fairly gentle compared to my last clutch, but still grips hard and effectively transfers torque to the wheels; it exceeds the torque my engine is putting out (dyno'd at 247HP/175lbs-lb torque) fairly well making it difficult to unintentionally have the clutch to slip. Ultimately, yes, I got what I wanted out of this, a good and reliable clutch that would make daily driving more practical.
GREAT PRODUCT

Juan Godinez | March 6th, 2013
this is one of the best products ever if you been thinking about it get it. i was unsure about buying it i had seen one bad review on this clutch but i took the risk and bought it and so far i been happy with it clutch takes a little getting used to but you will adapt after a week or so. you can feel ,power, the speed i took of with it yesterday so much better than stock i couldnt believe it a huge improvment... on the bad side you will waist more gas because your gonna want to keep speeding and engaging your ivtec every time you drive i have a cold air intake skunk 2 manifold some engine inserts and was able to take out a 370z and g35
Awesome

My clutch was worn out and I needed a new one so I figured y not upgrade it? What a great decision I made. I just recently had my clutch and flywheel put in my 05 type-s and couldn't b happier. It catches really quick and although I only have it a week... I love it. I am super psyched to pass the break in period and really give it a go. The clutch is a bit stiffer than stock, but not too stiff. It definitely catches much quicker and I barely have to move my foot off the clutch before the cars in gear. Took some getting used to at first but now its great. I have a cai,rh,e and kpro will b coming as soon as I have the money. This was a great addition to my build and would recommend it!
This clutch does not like heat.
Vincent | November 30th, 2011
If daily driving is your goal, this clutch is the wrong pick. It doesn't like heat. I mean even very little amount of heat. Stop and go traffic, the clutch will slip after a few blocks. Starting car uphill, especially if you have to go slow like entering a garage, this clutch will smell and slip (a year after break in, totally broken in miles). If you live in San Francisco like me, STAY WAY FROM THIS ITEM. I have not taken this to the track yet, but based on how bad it handles after it heats up, there is no way it can survive the tracks. I don't like it.

Great Qualty
Rashad | April 30th, 2011
It grabs really nicely and is great for a daily driver. I love the weight of the flywheel. Some say it's too light, but I like it just fine. BE SURE TO ADJUST YOUR CLUTCH PEDAL WHEN DONE INSTALLING!

Competion stage 2
Taylor Nance | October 9th, 2010
This clutch is the sh*t I got it paired up with a 9lbs fly wheel. The feel is a little stiffer then stock and grabs hard. I recommend that you do the 500 - 700 mile break in.
Competition Clutch Stage 2 Clutch and flywheel combo.
Steven | May 20th, 2010
I have recently purchased and installed the stage 2 clutch and flywheel combo on my 04Si(EP3). Also I recently rolled over the recommended 500 mile break-in period. So far I love everything about it. Club RSX also did a great job in helping me select this brand as I am picky and probably annoyed the shit out of them but they were great.
Competition Clutch Carbon Kevlar Clutch Kit
Andrew | April 27th, 2010
This is a good quality product from Competition Clutch. I own a 2006 RSX Typs-S with basic bolt ons and I have always felt like the stock clutch was weak even for a completely stock car. With this replacement iv'e definately noticed a difference, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, even a 4th gear scratch. My wife gets made when she can't get a drink cause i'm letting off the clutch and the car pulls so hard it feels like nothing but power being put to the road! The only con I would say is the 500 to 700 mile break in but thats to be expected. All in all a great product and as always iv'e gotten awesome service from Club RSX. Five stars all the way....
CC2 w/ 8 lb fly
Matt Mitchell | April 22nd, 2010
I just recently installed this on my 06 SI and i think it is the perfect combo for a mild N/A setup. It grabs like a mother now and the shifting is so much better. I suggest for all SI owners to install a new OEM throwout bearing with this kit. Competion Clutch FTW
Great Clutch/FW
Brett Schwaninger | March 25th, 2010
I've only had this clutch for about a week but I really enjoy it. it feels just like stock but it grabs way more. if anybody is looking for a good road race/autox clutch and isn't pushing a ton of hp this is a great buy.

Chris | September 26th, 2009
I just got this setup and I have to say, what a difference! From shifting, to accelerating, to reving a little harder at the redlight. Clutch feel takes a little time to get used to. Still stalling it out and i just got it yesterday. You'll really enjoy this product

After the break-in period.....the clutch engaged smoothly. When I ran it hard....shifting into each gear was screeching my tires! Amazing product!
Oh Yeah....Feels Nice
Frank Duran | February 26th, 2009
This clutch engages like a mofo. All the power goes to the wheels. This is a great clutch for performance on a daily driver.
Perfect for daily driving
Joseph Talsma | January 27th, 2009
For one this is a great price for a clutch that is just as good if not better than anybody's full face clutch. Grabs much better than stock and engagement isn't so harsh that it's awkward to drive in traffic. Holds my 250hp to the wheels. However this clutch does smell horrible after a hard launch. We'll see if it stands the test of time.
Shift like a monster!
Murphy Law | December 11th, 2008
I love my new clutch! after the install it was REALLY tight and touchy. after about 500 or so miles it started feeling stock again and when I let it out at high RPMs it holds. The Nitto 555's wont stick to the ground. Get this and you'll be happy! When you let that pedal out, you will know why you spent the money to get this clutch. Car takes off like a Rocket! Leave No Doubt!
