The Turbosmart TS-1-7170B-VB096E TS-1 7170 Kompact Turbocharger delivers serious horsepower capability in a compact, response-focused package. Designed for high-performance street and motorsport applications, this specific configuration features a 71mm compressor inducer, 70mm turbine exducer, standard rotation, 0.96 A/R turbine housing, V-band turbine inlet and outlet, and an externally wastegated design. Turbosmart engineered the TS-1 series around reduced rotating mass and advanced aerodynamics to provide exceptional transient response without sacrificing high-load airflow. A proprietary dual ceramic bearing system works with an aggressive 7+7 2618 aluminum splitter-style compressor wheel, allowing the turbocharger to respond quickly while maintaining the airflow needed for demanding high-horsepower combinations.
Built to withstand extreme operating conditions, the TS-1 7170 combines a lightweight 310S stainless-steel investment-cast turbine housing with a 713C Inconel turbine wheel for excellent high-temperature durability. CFD-developed housing geometry, VSR speed balancing, and an integrated iron center-housing backplate round out a turbocharger designed for performance, durability, and efficient power production.

7170 Kompact Performance
- The 7170 Kompact pairs a substantial 71mm compressor with Turbosmart's 70mm turbine platform, giving builders the airflow required for serious power while maintaining the response-oriented characteristics of the Kompact design. Turbosmart's current specifications place this particular model at 875–1,010 HP, making it well suited to applications approaching four-digit power levels.

Standard-Rotation 0.96 A/R Configuration
- Part number TS-1-7170B-VB096E specifically identifies the standard-rotation, V-band, 0.96 A/R, externally wastegated version of the TS-1 7170 Kompact. - The TS-1 is specifically Turbosmart's oil-cooled turbocharger platform. Builders requiring both oil and water cooling should look to the corresponding TS-2 series instead.
