The TS-0804-1004 uses a high-flow 44-micron pleated stainless-steel filter element engineered to capture potentially damaging contaminants while minimizing restriction to the turbocharger's oil supply. Unlike disposable filters, the stainless element is washable and serviceable, allowing it to be inspected and cleaned as part of regular oil-change maintenance.

Compact Direct-Mount Design
- Traditional inline turbo oil filters can require additional hose, fittings, and mounting space. Turbosmart developed the TS-0804-1004 with an extremely compact housing specifically so it can be positioned directly at the turbocharger's oil-feed connection.
- The integrated banjo fitting also allows the feed-line orientation to be adjusted during installation, making the filter particularly useful in crowded engine bays where clearance around the turbocharger is limited.
Serviceable 44-Micron Stainless Element
- Clean oil is critical to turbocharger reliability. The TS-0804-1004 incorporates a 44-micron stainless-steel filter element to help capture debris before it enters the turbocharger.
- Turbosmart recommends cleaning or replacing the internal filter as required in conjunction with engine oil changes. When cleaning the element, Turbosmart instructs that it be returned to the same orientation, with the clean side facing the turbocharger.
Installation & Maintenance
- Correct oil flow is essential to turbocharger operation, so the filter must be installed in the proper direction. Turbosmart specifically notes that the turbo side of the filter must be plumbed toward the turbocharger. After installation, both engine and turbocharger oil pressure should be verified and the system checked carefully for leaks.
- This is a universal performance component, so compatibility should be confirmed with the turbocharger manufacturer's oil-feed requirements before installation. The filter is not intended to correct excessive or insufficient turbocharger oil pressure; an appropriate oil-pressure regulator or restrictor may still be required depending on the turbocharger and engine combination.
