When the vehicle is moving and the electric fan is off, airflow pressure pushes the flexible rubber flap open, allowing air to flow through the radiator and through the shroud opening. How It Works
- A full-coverage fan shroud can improve low-speed and stationary cooling by allowing the electric fan to draw air across a larger portion of the radiator core. At higher vehicle speeds, however, solid areas of the shroud can restrict natural airflow.
- The SPAL 30130012 functions as a simple one-way air door. As the vehicle moves forward, incoming air passing through the radiator pushes the flap open, providing an additional path through the fan shroud.
- When the electric fan activates, negative pressure behind the radiator pulls the flap closed. This forces the fan to draw more of its air through the radiator core, rather than through the shroud vent.
Replacement & Custom Applications
