Medium-Profile Design
- The SPAL 30101505 is part of SPAL's Medium Profile fan range. At approximately 2.44 inches thick, it offers more airflow than many shallow-profile fans without requiring the additional installation depth of SPAL's larger high-performance models. SPAL specifically describes its Medium Profile fans as an option for obtaining high airflow where available space is limited.
- This makes the fan particularly useful for engine swaps and custom radiator installations where clearance between the radiator, engine, accessory drive, turbocharger piping, or other components can be extremely tight.
Pusher Fan Configuration
- Unlike a puller fan that mounts behind the radiator, 30101505 is specifically designed as a pusher fan. It mounts on the front side of the radiator or cooler and pushes air through the core toward the engine compartment.
- A pusher configuration can be especially useful when there isn't enough clearance behind the radiator for an electric fan. It can also be used as an auxiliary fan for an A/C condenser or additional heat exchanger.
Wiring & Installation
- The SPAL 30101505 should be wired using a properly sized relay, fuse, and automotive-grade wiring. SPAL's fan-controller documentation lists a 20-amp recommended fuse for 30101505.
- The fan can be controlled by a thermostatic switch, aftermarket fan controller, or an appropriate ECU fan-control output operating through a relay.
- Mounting hardware is not included with the fan. Compatible SPAL mounting options include several universal bracket designs, including the 30130017-style raised mounting brackets you were looking at previously.
