- One of the biggest advantages of the SPAL 30100364 is its compact packaging. SPAL's dimensional drawing shows an approximately 11.57-inch housing dimension, 12.20-inch maximum overall envelope, and only 2.05 inches of maximum depth.
- That shallow depth makes this fan particularly useful for Honda and Acura engine swaps, where clearance between an aftermarket radiator and the engine, intake manifold, accessory drive, turbo system, or exhaust components may be limited.
Puller Fan Configuration
- The 30100364 is specifically a puller fan. It should normally be installed on the engine side of the radiator, where it draws outside air through the radiator core.
- When sufficient space is available, a properly installed puller configuration is an excellent solution for primary radiator cooling because the fan can pull air directly through the heat exchanger while remaining behind the radiator and out of the incoming airflow path.
Proven Airflow Performance
- SPAL's technical data for the VA09-AP8/C-27A shows approximately 810 CFM at zero static pressure and 13 volts, with airflow decreasing progressively as static pressure increases. The same test data lists approximately 6.8 amps at zero static pressure.
- Current U.S. retail documentation rounds the fan's maximum airflow rating to 808 CFM and lists an 8.3-amp draw, so published electrical figures can vary depending on test methodology and catalog source.
Installation Note
- The SPAL 30100364 is a universal electric fan, so vehicle-specific mounting hardware is not included. SPAL offers universal brackets and shrouds that can be used to adapt the fan to a wide range of radiator configurations.
- For electrical installation, the fan should be wired with an appropriately rated fuse, relay, and automotive-grade wiring. A thermostatic switch, aftermarket fan controller, or suitable ECU output can be used to trigger the fan relay.
