Designed specifically to fit the factory turbocharger found on the Honda Civic Type R FK2 and FK8, this premium thermal blanket helps contain heat around the turbine housing instead of allowing it to radiate throughout the engine bay.
Keeping exhaust heat concentrated within the turbine housing can improve turbocharger efficiency while reducing heat exposure to surrounding hoses, wiring, intake components, and other sensitive engine-bay parts. PTP states that its turbo blankets can provide up to a 60% reduction in under-hood heat while also helping reduce turbo lag and intake-air temperatures.
The FPR035-114-04 uses PTP's premium Black Lava construction, featuring an outer layer manufactured from pulverized volcanic lava rock formed into a tightly woven fabric. Internally, the blanket uses high-temperature calcium magnesium silicate wool insulation reinforced with stainless-steel mesh for excellent thermal resistance and durability in extreme turbocharger environments.

Turbochargers generate tremendous amounts of heat, especially during spirited street driving and extended track sessions. Without proper thermal management, that heat radiates into the surrounding engine compartment and can contribute to heat soak while placing additional thermal stress on nearby components.
The PTP FPR035-114-04 isolates the hot side of the turbocharger, helping retain thermal energy in the exhaust stream while reducing the amount of radiant heat transferred into the surrounding engine bay. PTP states that maintaining hotter exhaust gases within the turbine housing can also improve turbocharger efficiency.
Fitment Note
- This version is designed around the factory FK2/FK8 Type R turbocharger. Owners using an aftermarket or hybrid turbo should verify turbine-housing compatibility before ordering. PTP offers other K20C turbo-blanket configurations for certain hybrid turbo applications.
