Engineered to Honda's exact OEM specifications, this automatic hydraulic tensioner uses engine oil pressure and an internal spring mechanism to maintain consistent tension on the timing chain, helping reduce chain slack, minimize startup noise, and ensure accurate camshaft timing. It supersedes Honda part number 14510-5A2-A01.

A worn or failing timing chain tensioner can cause rattling or knocking during cold starts, poor engine performance, and incorrect valve timing. Replacing it with a genuine Honda component restores factory performance and long-term reliability. This tensioner is a direct-fit replacement for select Honda Accord, Civic, and CR-V models. Honda also specifies this updated part in Technical Service Bulletin 19-019 for certain cold-start timing chain noise concerns.
