The DC-RAF27501 uses oiled cotton gauze filter media engineered to provide strong airflow while helping prevent dirt and contaminants from reaching the engine. The filter media is bonded to a durable, temperature-resistant urethane base that stands up to the heat and vibration found in performance engine bays.
Unlike the closed-top DC-RAF275, the DC-RAF27501 features an open filter top, allowing air to enter through both the sides and top of the filter. DC Sports notes that its open-top configuration can provide additional induction sound and airflow, making it an excellent option for performance street cars and custom intake systems.
