The ACT HC12-HDR4 Heavy Duty Race Clutch Kit is engineered for high-performance Honda Civic Type R and Acura Integra Type S applications that demand significantly more holding capacity and faster clutch response than the factory setup. Combining ACT’s Heavy Duty pressure plate with a rigid 4-pad ceramic race disc and Streetlite flywheel, this package is designed primarily for racing and aggressive high-power builds.
ACT’s Heavy Duty pressure plate uses a specially designed diaphragm to increase clamp load while minimizing deflection. The rigid 4-pad disc utilizes ceramic friction material and a heat-treated chromoly hub, providing excellent heat tolerance and quick engagement. Its lightweight rigid construction helps reduce rotational inertia for faster shifting, although engagement is considerably more aggressive than a conventional street clutch.
Rated by ACT for 527 lb-ft of torque at the engine, the HC12-HDR4 provides approximately 71% more torque capacity than the OE clutch. ACT recommends this configuration for race use only.
