I have about 300 more miles until the clutch is broken in and I can

I had it installed for about 5 months, 500 mile break in just to be safe... spring broke yesterday. Was good while it lasted wont be buying again though.
Nice set up !
Jorge Ortiz | March 29th, 2017
After the break in .i took my car out for some pulls. Catches pretty damn good for my set up. Catches really low ,just the way i like it. Only down side is the chatter from the flywheel. Sounds like my engine is low on oil lmao but other than that its no bad to daily either.
Great Clutch Kit
Curtis B. | February 17th, 2016
I installed this clutch kit when I did the 6 speed transmission swap in my EP3. It's a great clutch kit, especially with the 11 pound flywheel. Pedal was stiff at first, but after the break in period it has softened up quite a bit. It grabs well enough for me to snap an axle in half in a month. Drives very similar to stock with only needing slightly more throttle with the flywheel. Definitely recommend it for stock power levels as a nice upgrade.
Great upgrade
Diego | October 6th, 2015
I upgraded from a stock clutch that was going pretty hard. I had my flywheel resurfaced and had everything installed by a friend. At first, holy grip. The clutch was biting so hard and it was a little hard to get used to. Slowly after the break in and readjustment of the pedal, the pedal feels just like stock. The only difference I see is that the pedal is much stiffer, but it is soooo worth it. I have an intake, headers and an exhaust and this clutch works just fine.
Great set up

Daily driver with some mods and this clutch is a beast. Very strong and the 8 lb flywheel makes a huge difference. Takes a little getting used to!
Great clutch kit

I put this clutch and flywheel in a customers car it feels great and they are happy as can be with it...lite bolt on 07 SI coupe
Happy overall, but expected more gains

When I drove my car out of the parking after my new clutch and flywheel was installed, I had that holy $&@! moment. I had never felt my clutch grab so hard before. The clutch engages much sooner and my car now takes less time to rev. It's only been about about 2k miles since the install and the clutch ALMOST feels like stock again, but it's still better than before. I guess I just had higher expectations going into it. I read another review about purchasing a stage 2 clutch next time. I think I will be doing the same when this one wears out. Like I said in the beginning though, I am still happy with the upgrade. I just hope the clutch lasts for at least 30k+ miles.
Great at first. ....

I installed this combo 3yrs ago. I don't race as my car is a daily driver however I have taken the car out for some more "spirited" driving. Nothing too crazy tho. I got this expecting equal or better wear than oem plus the lighter flywheel made driving more fun. Sad to say I am experiencing slip after 35k miles. Revs are above normal in each gear if pressed too hard. I'm going to replace with the Stage 2 disc this Christmas and see if that lasts longer.
I love it !
Josh | August 8th, 2013
I daily my car about 70 miles a day so you can imagine my clutch got broke in pretty quick but about 3 weeks into it my Clutch master cylinder went out and I changed it to the OMNI cmc. I've had everything running for 3 days now and only almost stalled out twice. Its a great combo and i love it !
shut up and buy this
alister steinhauser-brooks | April 21st, 2013
Don't buy OEM. Don't buy anything else but this set up or one with a higher stage. The clutch grips like mad and the fly wheel puts the balls to the ground. I wasn't expecting these results but my neck really hurts and I think repair dude(can't remember how to spell the correct term) nearly crapped him self my car too off that hard. RPM's stay up where you want them and its just amazing how much more power you get from the 8lb flywheel. Not actually power but more whp than before.
Loved it while it lasted
james crawford | November 25th, 2012
the clutch and fly wheel were great! i loved the change they made to the preformence. but after about 600 miles i totaled my rsx so i didint really get to play with it as i was still babying it to break it in. but you could def tell the diffrence in the take off. would recomend to any rsx owner that wants to keep a stock feeling clutch that also has a staged Grab to it.
Best Bang For The Buck
William | October 10th, 2012
I love the feel in combination with my new master cylinder. It has a lot of grab and not too stressful on my legs. The package is great, everything is ready to go and installation was fairly simple.
Good for daily driving
fivestarleaf | October 5th, 2012
My stock clutch went out at 147,000 miles. I needed a quick replacement and decided might as well go up a higher stage to support any modifications in the future. I daily drive my car, and the 1.5 is just right. It's a bit stiffer and there's more spring letting off, but it's not that much different from stock at all. Temperature does effect this clutch. I've noticed , compared to my stock clutch, that the 1.5 CC has a low grab during cold temperature and has a stiff grab during warm.
Stock Feel + more BALLS
Scott | June 11th, 2012
I agree with all of the positive reviews below. Its close to stock but has a lot more grip. Chirping into 2nd is no problem at all. Engagement point is way lower, but I got used to it quickly. The lightweight flywheel is noticeable, but I don't know how much faster it actually is. It decelerates a lot faster. I have 2000 miles on it, love it so far. After finding a local CRSX installer on here it was WAY cheaper than a new OEM clutch (that sucks anyways). The parts seemed very high quality when I took them out of the box
sweet clutch

perfect clutch for my acura rsx type s' thank u clubrsx
Good combo! very pleased with the products.
t3chnikqality | February 27th, 2012
Clutch grabs decently hard when first installed. After about 1k mile break-in period, it grabs a little harder than stock. Nice feel to it paired with the Ultra Light Weight flywheel and Rev's quicker as well. Only complaints: My flywheel makes a metal on metal grinding noise when between 1-3500 rpm's, not a problem what-so-ever. I believe it's the clutch springs vibrating and resonating through the holes of the clutch disc. Because of the lightness of the flywheel, idling in first gear is not possible anymore in traffic. Other than that, great combo!
Great value, huge upgrade!
James | February 13th, 2012
The stock clutch on my 02 RSX-S started slipping recently, and I don't really drive the car that hard. So after doing some research on ClubRSX I find a lot of guys saying the stock clutch is inadequate even for a no-mod or basic mod car. My car only had cold air intake & cat-back exhaust (installed by previous owner). Went w/ the 1.5 w/ lightweight flywheel & now sitting about 600 miles, it drives fantastic! Definitely putting down more horses, & after about 200miles the pedal stiffness wore off. I waited until about 400 miles to start getting on it, but even then I haven't launched it yet. Anyhow, Great value, glad I made this choice. Thanks CRSX!!!
Great Combo Purchase!
Joseph | February 13th, 2012
Extremely happy with this purchase. The clutch is very quick to grab and my take offs have been easier than ever. The flywheel has also helped my acceleration a decent amount; the cars seems to rev up a bit faster now. I have no complaints for this product, it is top quality and I recommend to anyone for a daily driver or lightly modified vehicle.
CC 1.5 Clutch and Flywheel
John | February 9th, 2012
After reading and researching a clutch for my 03 Type-S, I found that the CC 1.5 sounded like a viable option. I decided to go ahead and get the 11.5 flywheel also and not stick to the stock RSX-S one. Installation was straight forward and took about 5 hours. Clutch does grab nicely and response is great. I Needed to get familiar with the clutch and it's release point. Definitely not the same as stock release point, but after driving it for an hour, i got used to it. I've put over 1000 miles on the clutch already and have nothing but good things to say about it. My 03 Type-S is Daily Driven. Not a show car by any means. I needed something reliable and after reading many reviews, now having it, I am happy with my purchase!
wow!
Johnathan Park | January 20th, 2012
the flywheel is really nice, allows the car to pick up noticeably quicker, even during normal cruising. the clutch grabs nice and hard, some chatter, but very tolerable.
Great clutch
Rusty420 | December 15th, 2011
I'm very happy with this clutch it grabs just the way I want it for my daily driver.
Great Shipping, Great Product
Wally | October 16th, 2011
Great shipping (able to track shipment through FedEx website). I planned and prepped for the install for a couple weeks to make sure I had everything that I needed. Install was smooth, perfect replacement for the worn out stock clutch. Awesome service.
Wish I had gone Ultralight
Richard | August 4th, 2011
After reading several reviews that mentioned killing the car when they got the lightweight flywheel I was a little concerned. Maybe they just didn't know how to drive. I have had no problems with driveability, although my wife did kill it twice when I took her on a familiarization drive. This thing just hooks up and goes, just give it a bit more gas than with the stock clutch. If you shift carefully, modulating the gas and clutch pedal, you can do it very smoothly even with pretty good acceleration. If you want to really nail it you're up to the rev limiter before you know it. I haven't noticed any stiffness compared to stock. I like it, just hope it doesn't cost me too much in tires. I gave it a 4 because I don't know what a 5 would be unless it was magic.
Works for me.
S. Bowden | June 7th, 2011
I got the Competition Clutch stage 1.5 kit and flywheel combo to replace an Exedy stage 1 with stock flywheel setup. The engagement point is the same as far as I can tell, and the feel is about the same as well which is fine by me. Great kit for a great price. A special thanks to the folks at Club RSX as well. I ordered this product on a Friday morning and got a call from them stating that the flywheel was on backorder and would be a couple of weeks. This was no biggie to me as my RSX-S is basically a weekend toy at this point. Nevertheless, I was very pleasantly surprised to have the clutch and flywheel arrive on Monday afternoon.
Great Clutch!
Avinash | May 26th, 2011
Installed this setup on my TSX a month ago and I am amazed how aggressive it is. The car pulls alot harder And revs way faster! Definitely the best clutch company I've yet to use and will recommend this setup to anyone with basic bolt ons and to any daily/ free spirited drivers
Perfect Daily Driver Clutch
redeyedc5 | May 18th, 2011
Very nice clutch for the price. Pedal feels very close to stock after you adjust the screw in the back. Much better grab over stock clutch. Perfect setup with my Wavetrac for a low horsepower NA Type-s. Can't wait to break it in and hit the track!

This clutch is amazing, way better than oem
good stuff
zhen | January 10th, 2011
Got the competition stage 1.5 combo back in Dec. First though was that the flywheel spins a lot faster and I stalled multiple times but got used to it in day 2. Oem feel and smooth shifting even in high rpm. 1st and 2nd gear pick up so fast that I would get a great deal of wheel spin. Over all I am very pleased with my purchase. Injen cai, rbc, kiddsracing header, greddy evo2, esmm, buddy club n+, kpro'd and dyno tuned
wonderful!!!
matt thongphanh | November 30th, 2010
i jus got this combo put in 3 days ago, and ill tell you, if your a decent driver the 8lb fly is no prob. maybe a lil chatter if you have motor mounts. the flywheel is the most difference from stock, revs faster, better response all around, the clutch grabs pretty good for a stage 1 but i havent been able to do full potential yet since i have only 150 miles on it. i got this paired with the omni power clutch master cylinder n brand new oem slave also n wow does it feel good!! a lil stiff but much improved from stock!! get this n you will be very happy, especially for the price!!
first replacement clutch
kelrog | October 11th, 2010
Had a transmisson shop install one about a month ago. The guy could tell it was nicer than oem. Man it had a bite on it :) Don't forget to adjust the clutch pedal!
Works great!
Lan | October 4th, 2010
Had both the clutch and flywheel installed a week ago, finally got it broken in and it runs great! Clutch pedal is a little stiffer but it didn't take long to get used to. Revs climb noticeably faster with the lightweight flywheel. This combo is definitely worth getting if you're going with basic bolt-ons!
Great Recommendation!
Michael Quach | September 11th, 2010
I emailed Chris Dye, about whether or not I should get a Exedy Organic clutch combo with a ACT Streetlite Flywheel and he responded rather quickly telling me that he tried that combo and did not like it as much as this Competition Clutch and Flywheel Combo. It drives and pulls great for a everyday driver! Revs quick! Pulls hard! Great Recommendation Chris! Thanks
CC clutch combo

1.5 stage with 8lb flywheel from cc is unbeatable. My stock clutch was taking 4k rpm to start at 1st gear xD. I decided to get this clutch combo. After breaking it in, feels like stock clutch. catches on really tight, more than I expected. Thank you CRSX for fast shipping even when I ordered it while out of stock.
Great combo, well worth it.
Brandon | July 24th, 2010
My OEM clutch was slipping beyond comprehension. I needed To replace it bad and this was a great purchase. After break in it has almost stock pedal feel and grabs harder than I've ever felt! I love the clutch and flywheel combo. Shipping was fast and service from CRSX was awesome.
Competition Clutch Stg 1.5 Clutch & Lightweight Flywheel Combo
Nate | July 9th, 2010
ClubRSX was great, delivering the combo within a couple days. The clutch is a bit stiffer than stock but did not take much to get use to. Had to adjust the clutch pedal a bit higher but no complaints.
As always ClubRSX comes through
Nick~ | February 13th, 2010
Competition is a great company and everyone around me has always went to them for the clutch needs. I am very happy with the performance. It was a lot stiffer than stock, but it didn't take long to get use to. The best part about this whole transaction was that I was in between a rock and a hard place because it was a holiday weekend and my car was not working so I needed this part right away! They were able to get the part to me the next day by 10 am. I wish I didn't have to pay for that shipping, lol but oh well. None the less, Chris and Brian are always a great help!
Great purchase
Mike Cronce | January 16th, 2010
Very happy with the CC stage 1.5 clutch + 8lb flywheel combo. It's my daily driver, so I was concerned about drivability. The flywheel took a little getting used to at first, but once the clutch was broken in and I was used to the flywheel, I'd honestly say it's as easy as, if not easier than, stock.
cc 1.5 w/8lb fly
kyle rogers | November 28th, 2009
Clutch grabs pretty hard for a stg1. Definantly a difference in rev speed with the flywheel. My car now spins the tires all the way through first just by punching at around 3k rpms. Top end is a lot better compared to before. Very very streeable pedal feel. Almost easier than stock. But don't let that fool you. You let the pedal out and your going, and quickly at that
Great product!
joshb_ | November 23rd, 2009
I bought this clutch and installed it with a fresh transmission rebuild back in aug 09. It is nov 09 and I have put about 6,000+ miles on the set up (also installed a F1 racing ebay 10lb flywheel) and the clutch feels great. I drive my car daily back and forth from school with some spirited diving and the clutch takes its very well. I don't do much racing just the occasional beating. Could not ask for more on the pedal feel and engagement. Can't be beat for the price!
Wow
OgLoc | July 25th, 2009
great product great price pulls hard and revs fast. every time you start from 1st gear it feels like its trying to rip your trans out of your car. ok first if your a DIY'er be ready theres alot to remove, took me like 7 hours start to finish(first time doing a clutch and flywheel). second after the install i put the car in 1st with the e-brake on, and started letting the clutch pedal out to see where it would engage about a 1/2 inch later the car jumped over a foot. first thought holy sh$t!! second was damn now i got to relearn to drive this thing.
Worthy product
Bill | May 28th, 2009
An upgrade to the stock clutch which is inexpensive and not overly-agressive, but able to handle modest upgrades. It also feels "heavy duty" compared to the stock clutch. Would definately purchase again, although I doubt if i will ever need to.
Great Quality, Great Price!
Chris | January 27th, 2009
Iv recently installed this with a ITR Flywheel and I LOVE IT. Smooth as silk, great combo for basic bolt on's. Great high rev grip. No chatter (so far) And the clutch is a tiny bit stiffer then stock, but much better then my old setup. Def great alternative for OEM, not to mention will hold up better. Comes with everything you need! Cant beat it!
