    Will It Fit Your Vehicle?

    Description

A self-contained elastomeric shock that mounts on brackets between the engine and the chassis. It reduces extreme engine movement and dampens the motion, providing many benefits. The Stiffy was originally intended for the sport compact market, but can be used for some Hot Rod applications if it is applied correctly.

    Benefits
    Greatly improved off-the-line acceleration
    Reduced wheel hop
    Improved vehicle stability
Reduced shock loads on driveline components
    Smoother shifting
Reduced wear on exhaust system joints
Less vibration transmission to the driver compared to polyurethane motor mounts.
Less shock load, compared to torque straps and chains.
Drifting helps reduce shock loads when wheels gain traction.
Reduces motor movement decreases the chance of motor parts rubbing against the hood and frame.

    Ingalls Improves Take Off

I really thought that the Ingalls engine torque damper wasnt going to do much but wow!! It feels so much more solid, i have a bad passenger mount that will be changed soon and i already tell that this stiffy has improved it greatly!!! It takes off better, engine sounds different in a good way, feels solid when shifting, when i go over bumps before it used to hop and now i noticed no hops at all. Well worth every penny!!!! A++++

    supplied o rings suck

5 stars for great product, it really does make a solid difference over stock. Now I have vibratechnics mounts installed too and my shit isn't gonna BUDGE. lol. My only gripe is that the supplied o rings broke after one week and I had to reinstall it twice with new ones from the hardware store. Install is easy just don't snap a strut bar stud lol

    Great product

Love that i can adjust the dampener for dd or track which is great for those of you that don't want to have the interior rattling all the time.easy install, just buy 2 extra o rings at a hardware store to keep the vibrations to a minimal

    Very Impressed

I really did not expect this to do much... but wow I have never been more wrong. It's pretty incredible. Engine sounds a bit meaner, much smoother acceleration, and launches much quicker. Engine no longer rocks at all. This is under the softest setting as well [15mm] You won't regret getting this.

    Gr8!!!! Upgrade

Before I bought this the wheel hop was horrible. Since then nothing. Car vibrates at idle more but I can't complain. Buy it! Also get the motor mount inserts with it. =)

    Amazing Difference

Took my car for a ride with my buddy, then we put it on my '02 RSX-S. Took it for another drive and noticed immediately the difference in engine sound and acceleration. Prior to putting the first mount on the strut, we had to drill the holes a little wider. It couldn't fit over both bolts. After, everything was smooth. Definitely worth the money.

    INGALLS STIFFY

the car is more responsive through all gears. Acceleration seems greatly improved. Engine seems to feel very stiff with hardly any movement. It gives off a nice sound when hard on throttle. some vibration while idling but makes the car feel more alive and aggressive in my opinion. also some vibration in low rpm when starting off in gears not bad actually like the vibration feel. GREAT PRODUCT well worth every penny.

    Great Product

I feel like the car is more responsive in every gear. I definitely have to try to get the front wheels to burnout now. Launching is much quicker and like others have said, the engine doesn't move much at all. Downshifting is downright awesome now. Two thumbs up.

    Ingalls torque damper review

After installing in the ingalls torque damper I feel that the engine is more stable during netural and in gears. I really don't know it makes your car acelerate any faster but it couldn't hurt, it does give your car a different rev sound tho still its kinda high price and really don't know if its worth 150 tho.

    Outstanding Product!

After I installed this product on my 03 base & test drove it, I feel like the pick up is much more quicker than before. Also, the shifting is more smoother than before. There is a bit vibration (very little), but not a problem for me. I feel like the car is using all it's power now. I like the sound when I turn on the engine. BTW, I am using only the factory normal setting of the engine mount. This engine mount is really amazing!

This product is very solid and very nice to look at. It is easy to install, it took less then 1 hour and I didn't even get dirty. The engine doesn't move at all when revving the engine in neutral. When steping on the gas the car responds much faster, which makes it feel like better throttle response, and more power is getting to the ground since it isn't being absorbed by the soft OEM motor mounts. There is some vibration when accelerating, probably due to the mount being bolted to the strut tower brace, which then connects to the firewall tranfering vibrations to the cabin...but it isn't as bad as urathane motor mounts. I would only get this for street use as it probably isn't up to the task for serious track use and only braces one side of the engine.

    Must have

The IED is totally worth every penny! The IED combined with the Skunk2 coilovers and Koni shocks = NO wheel hop! My car now launches like a bat out of hell. I have yet to notice any vibrations like many others have. Just be careful when putting the IED in because the two bolt that hold the strut tower brace in place will snap with litte effort. This part is a must have on any RSX no matter the power level. Its simple to install and does what its made to do.

    RSX Type S

I measured the engine travel before and after the installation of the Ingalls Engine Damper. Before it was ĺĒ and after it was 1/8Ē. Itís been a month of spirited driving since the install. The vibration that I noticed after the install seems to be going away. This is either due to the shock break-in or wearing out. I hope itís the former. Other than the initial sound and vibration in the cabin the IED is totally worth the money and little time to install. It should have been on the car when I bought it. Throttle response is the most noticeable. If you donít do anything else to your car, do this!

    Best deal ever

Combined with all 4 60A Innovative motor mounts, and Yokohama S. Drive tires, I have no wheel hop at all even with 260wtq hitting at 4500rpm. I tested it today and used full throttle going through the rain when it just started raining and the car just gripped nasty as hell. For a first mod to reduce wheel hop, this is a great start. If you have any questions about install or w/e, feel free to email me.

With modification it fits the 06

It works great with modification to fit the 06 under the stock strut brace. The little rubber o rings included don't do anything to help the vibration. you need to get 1/4 inch longer bolts some extra washers to stack under the strut brace(2-3) and some hard rubber washers for where the two ends of the damper mount(8)two on each side of the bolt 4 per end. After all that absolutely no vibrations at all and it greatly reduces wheel hop and smoothes out hard shifting . As someone else mentioned they need to do their homework for the 06 kit.

    A Must Have! (For BCRH)

I had mine installed the same day as my Buddy Club Race Header, and it WORKS! Love it! I can barely even tell there's something "on" the engine keeping the entire car stabil. I had some wheel spin/hop when taking off before, and now it's gone. If you have a BCRH, this item is a MUST HAVE! The Vibration to the car is minimal at best, but you'll think you can feel the road better because of it. Get this!

    Great product, one problem

Installing the damper is at most a 30 min job. But it took me a few hours. The stock bolt did not go all the way through the bracket and tighten. So I had to get a longer bolt. If ingalls had done a liitle more homework on the installation, I would have given it 5 stars. As for the damper, little vibrations, but it works great! Wheel Hopp is greatly reduced and only a little wheel spin when shifting from first to second at redline. Overall great product.

    Satisfied

The TD does what it's supposed to. The install was a breeze too. Someone else commented about thread locker, and other lock-tite like things. I read about these issues but with a few weeks time on the TD I have yet to encounter any issues. I got thicker rubber washers from Home Depot, and used some Dynamat on the bracket that attaches to the strut tower/frame. My vibrations are almost non-existent. I honestly can't even tell that I have a TD on the car, except for when i'm going off from a stop, it just BARELY vibrates. When I mean I can't tell that I have one on, I mean in terms of vibration and discomfort. Wheel hop wasn't completely elminated for me, but it was SIGNIFICANTLY reduced. I was wheel hopping out of my mind before, and now it just barely does it towards redline in first gear. Really helped me on gears 1--->2, especially on the shift as well. Excellent product, and a worthy alternative to ESMM or full on motor mounts.

    Ingalls Engine Damper

The product works, but I have had multiple problems with the construction of the damper. Both the sides of the body of the damper have come apart due to vibration from the motor. I think Ingalls needs to put a little more engineering into the product. For example a little thread locker during assembly of the damper would have prevented my frustration. The installation was painful due to the limited space. Besides the troubles the damper eliminated wheel hop and the car shifts firmer. I have yet to experience the noisy idle.

    GREAT product!

I installed this at the same time as my ESMM, so i cant tell you how it is on its own, but i started the car with just the mounts, and it rocked slightly, then with this, and it say STILL, and i was amazed at how well it did its job! highly recommended!

    ingalls engine damper

this is a really good first mod for an rsx. i had one on my type s and it really makes a difference when you're shifting the car. it doesn't "buck" at all when you change gears and the engine feels and is alot more planted in its place. it can be a bit noisy at idle especially when it's could out, but the shifting feel outweighs that by a long shot.
