Synchromax is recommended for manual transmissions that specify an automatic transmission fluid or motor oil. It is also ideal for 4x4 transfer cases and / or 2-cycle motorcycle gear boxes.

Synchromax is formulated with Royal Purple's synthetic, proprietary Synerlec additive technology, which offers improved shift quality over a wide temperature range and reduced gear noise.

Synchromax is fully compatible with all types of friction materials and offers excellent corrosion and oxidation protection without affecting the soft metals commonly found in manual transmission synchronizers.

Not impressed!

By joshb_ on 11/23/2009

I used this fluid after getting my transmission rebuilt and compared it to some OEM fluid. I kept both fluids in for about 3,000 miles each and the Royal could not match how smooth the car shifted with the OEM fluid. With the weather getting colder, I notcied that the transmission was notchy for a long time while the car warmed up with the Royal fluid over the OEM fluid making shifting easy even when cold. Overall, I think I will stick to OEM fluid over the Royal Purple, but I will probably try some other fluids as well.

Like everything else...

I originally used the OEM Acura trans fluid and noticed how much slicker the gears go in. I have now opted to try this fluid since RSX trans are so delicate and need much attention. I really don't think it made that much of a difference. Maybe it's better than Acura brand but who knows. 2nd gear goes in nicely, but can't say it's a huge noticeable difference from Acura brand. My only recommendation is changing the 6 speeds trans fluid every 30K. What brand you use is up to you.

Good, but not incredible.

I have the typical third gear grind and I have heard everyone raving about how good RP in regards to tranny fluid, I put this stuff in the car and did see an improvement over the old fluid, but nothing mindblowing, fluid can't fix a sychro. The motor oil on the other hand is really excellent, havent burned a drop since I changed it.

Using stock honda oil before. Been using this for about 1 year/10,000 miles and it shifts perfectly with no grinds like it did with honda oil. I say give it try.
