Nice Product, Incorrect Instructions
Anestis | November 9th, 2023
I recommend the product but the instructions had me confused because the collars are mislabeled according to the guide. I found the previous review helpful and started to rearrange the collars and found that in my case, FD4 is between body and frame @ rear with FD1 under it - FD3 is between body and frame @ front with FD2 under it. Hope this helps everyone in the future!
Just for peace of mind
Mike Satke | March 21st, 2014
I installed these on my 02 RSX Type S for peace of mind. I Had changed the timing chain and clutch last April. Rather than fighting with the tight confines of the motor and body panel, I just dropped the sub frame, with the engine on it, on a set of jack stands and raised the car on the lift. It was a piece of cake working on both ends of the drive train like that. What got my attention was the method written up in the shop manual about getting the sub frame back in the same spot. These collars, installed a few weeks ago, position the frame using the bolts to center everything. Where the peace of mind comes in, is that the frame won't shift if the suspension takes a hard hit from a pot hole or other road hazard that occur in the real world. I had to get the installation instructions from the Blox's web site, as they're not included with the collars. The instructions were incorrect for the RSX/DC5. The lower collars they showed going in the rear of the sub frame would not fit the holes, too large, but they fit the front holes just fine. The collars indicated for the front fit the rear just fine. All in all, not big deal, but it was tense for a minute or two. After all was reassembled and re-aligned, all was good, but no better or worse than before. The collars are perfectly machined and it's just a shame they can't be seen. Even crawling under the car, you have to hunt for them.
subframe kit
Corey Ganoom | September 3rd, 2013
Had these installed the same time I put in the Vibratechnics motor mounts. Same idea as the Spoon Rigid Collar Subframe kit. This product is more affordable than the Spoon version. No issues with fitment.
